Happy Friday, friends!

Let us all pour a glass of wine and give homage to the phenomenon known simply as Girls Weekend.

Ladies, I know you’re with me on this.

Mine is starting tomorrow and I am fairly excited about this. I’ve been sharing previous Girls Weekend posts all week on my Facebook page so check that out if you haven’t already.

In honor of Girls Weekend 2015, I painted my nails this awesome purple color, which is funny since I rarely paint my nails at all. Since I live with all boys, no one was particularly impressed. Go figure.

What are we doing for Girls Weekend, you ask? Let me share five highlights with you, as we hit the road tomorrow for Red Wing, Minnesota:

  1. We’re going to start with Falconer Vineyard on Friday for happy hour. (Wine. Hello, it’s Girls Weekend.)
  2. We’re going to shop the artsy little village of Stockholm, Wisconsin on Saturday morning before heading back to Red Wing for more shopping.
  3. We’re going to eat our favorite Girls Weekend cookies – imagine two Townhouse crackers with a layer of peanut butter in between and covered in chocolate bark. Simple but utter perfection. These cookies are a tradition, in fact, and we thank my mom for always making these for us.
  4. We’re having a cocktail (or two) and dinner at The Port restaurant, part of the historic St. James Hotel in downtown Red Wing.
  5. We’re going to drink more wine and catch up on life and share laughter and perhaps even a few tears (in a good way), because that’s what girlfriends do.

Thank God I have my sisters and cousin, who are also my best girlfriends – they mean the world to me. And I’m also glad my mom will join us this year … we look forward to this weekend all year long and it’s always – ALWAYS – the best time.

I’ll be back with pics from the weekend, I’m sure, but until then, have a fabulous Friday!

Lara
