September signals a couple of birthdays in our family … the first being my mom’s! We celebrated the big 7-5 for her on Saturday night with the whole family.
We started with a fantastic dinner and fun cocktails at The Noble Lion in Victoria. (I highly recommend the rhubarb sidecar and the seared halibut … and the charcuterie board and the oysters … well, you get my drift. No one left hungry!)
My Dad and sister. 😉
Teacher Man and our niece, Miss Morgan, who is always up for a selfie opportunity!
After dinner, we all convened at my sister’s home in Carver to have cake, a little bubby, and give mom her cards and gifts.
I made the cake and it was a total winner! I took A Farmgirl’s Dabbles Apple Cake with Fluffy Brown Sugar Buttercream and created a two-layer sheet cake using 8-inch pans. The cake was super moist and had amazing apple flavor … but that buttercream, friends! Certainly the star of the show. 🙂
Grammy got a little help from Miss Morgan with her birthday candles.
Grandma with her grandkids!
And with her sons- and daughter-in-law!
And a photo with the kids and Dad … pictures like this happen more rarely than you’d think so it was fun to get us all together!
All in all, a lovely night celebrating my Mom!
Have a great start to your week, friends … we’re fully into the school year schedule now with piano lessons back on the docket for Joe and his first two driver’s education classes. (Whaaaaat?!) Be sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook to get all the daily updates!
