Actually, here’s a little story. I didn’t even know an egg on a burger was a THING until I went to Ireland in my early 30s. Teacher Man and I had just checked into our hotel over by the Shannon Airport because we were on the last legs of our trip. We were tired and hungry and decided to be low key and grab some dinner and a couple of Guinnesses on tap in the hotel bar that night. We both ordered burgers and the server asked us if we wanted to top it with an egg.
We had no idea this could even be an option. Had never thought about eggs that way at all. (I know, travesty. Silly Americans.)
So we tried it and LOVED it.
And now it’s our favorite way to eat a burger.
Ground turkey (or beef), slice (or two) of cheese, bacon (um, hello, of course), and an egg.
It’s phenomenal and it adds an extra zing of protein and all those other nutrients for just 70 or so additional calories. Sooooo worth it.
