Turkey Tuesday | Recipe links for Thanksgiving #turkey #turkeybreast #slowcooker #leftovers #thanksgivinglieftovers #tryturkey #serveturkey

Hi, friends!

It’s only Tuesday and it’s already been a jam-packed week. I was hanging out with the Governor of Minnesota (and that turkey above) as he ushered in Thanksgiving week with his annual presentation with the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association. I even went live on Facebook to showcase the event, which you can check out below. (It kind of cuts me off, which is weird because the original Facebook Live video doesn’t do that, but we’ll just go with it.)

Today, I expect to be taking more media requests for my boss and I am also doing a 30-minute radio interview myself – all about turkey preparation, cooking tips, fun facts, and silly stories.

Tomorrow we’re anticipating the National Thanksgiving Turkey pardoning ceremony at the White House, which is always fun to watch. (Usually this is livestreamed on CNN.com.)

I also worked with four Minnesota food bloggers this month to showcase their takes on turkey recipes for Thanksgiving, and I can tell you, they all totally rocked this challenge! You can check out their links below – we’ve got all the bases covered, from whole turkey and turkey breast to a slow cooker recipe and a fabulous idea for leftovers. (The bloggers also shared these mouth-watering photos – aren’t they beautiful?)

Teacher Man, Joe, and I will be headed to the farm Thursday morning for the big day, after I make our pumpkin pies. (My mom made sure I have her recipe for lard pie crust and Grandma Anderson’s pumpkin pie so wish me luck! And yes, ironically, I am not in charge of the turkey – but I know my mom will handle this task perfectly and my dad will be the expert carver. #TeamTurkey)

Happy Thanksgiving, friends!

Lara
