Hey friends, It’s 44 degrees and raining out right now. Rather than commiserate about the weather (as I know this is just the beginning …), I’ll highlight a few of my favorite photos from my “date weekend” with Teacher Man.

Both Joe and Teacher Man were off from school Thursday and Friday last week. Joe headed up to Lake of the Woods (that’s waaaaaaay up by Canada, for those who aren’t aware) with his buddy, Cody, and his family. That left Teacher Man and I to our own devices. We decided to hit the road on Friday and make a little date weekend out of it.

First stop – my sister’s for some Friday evening festivities.

Enki Brewing in Victoria – we had never been!

I suppose it’s not technically “a date” when other family members are involved, but who could resist an invitation from my sister and her husband, which included a yummy steak and crab alfredo dinner, a bonfire, and smores with Miss Morgan!

Saturday morning, I powered up with a Pumpkin Spice White Chocolate Latte (whaaaaat?) and my LuLaRoe Halloween leggings!

We road-tripped to Red Wing and then veered off into Wisconsin along the Mississippi River. This photo was taken near Maiden Rock.

More stellar views between Maiden Rock and Stockholm, Wisconsin. We truly had perfect weather for a fall road trip – it was quite amazing!

After winding our way back to Minnesota, passing through Wabasha and Lake City, we headed to Red Wing again to do a little shopping and check into our hotel. Date night officially started with a new LuLaRoe “Madison” skirt … love, love, love this gorgeous floral print! Plus, pockets! #winning

We enjoyed cocktails at the St. James Hotel in downtown Red Wing — Teacher Man’s was called a “Blood and Sand” and mine was a Sidecar.

Next up, dinner at Staghead Gastropub, which is a fabulous option if you’re ever in Red Wing. The building itself is so cool – exposed brick, tin ceiling, and a long wooden bar. The food was also pretty fantastic as well!

All in all, a fun weekend! Although we missed this guy …

… who was busy catching fish on Lake of the Woods!

See you soon!
