July is nearing and that means the gardens are really starting to come into their own. The lilacs and peonies are long gone, but they are replaced by asiatic lilies, colorful annuals, and soon-to-bloom coneflowers, rudbeckia, hydrangea, and daisies. I so love every season of the garden as each is different and has its own highlights!

Here’s a peek right now:

Asiatic lily.

Mammoth mum.

Dahlia.

A type of Lamb’s Ear? (I am totally spacing right now – will research and come back later with the name! (Which is actually code for I will text my mother because she will know.)

One of my favorite hostas – just in front of the Annabelle Hydrangea bushes. I think I will need to divide this plant in the fall – it’s looking crowded! 😉

The feathery tops of Karl Foerster feather reed grass.

Stella d’Oro daylilies.

Osteospermum –  an annual in one of my containers.

Purple coneflower – soon to bloom!

Becky daisy – love this plant and it’s classic blooms, which are just starting!

Okay, I had to throw in a photo of Earl the Pug stalking the carrots, which aren’t big enough to eat – yet!

I’m off to get a birthday dinner ready for Teacher Man – French dip sandwiches, cheesy hash brown potatoes, green beans, and Dairy Queen cake. Yum!

Hope you have a fabulous rest of the weekend!

Lara
